So I know there's an active connection between the 2 computers. That LC2 computer can see the shared folder on the Windows 10 Server no problem. Still not working.īy "not working" I mean, I get prompted for credentials, but even tho the credentials are correct, I just keep getting the credential window popping up. Still not working.Īssuming it was a protocol issue, I enabled SMB1 on Windows 10 and restarted it. So I added a password to that user, and tried the same as above, but providing a password. I tried just owner and no password, I tried LC2\owner and no password. Firewall is disabled.įrom "Server" if I do \\LC2\Shared, I get prompted for username and password.

Shared one folder, let's call it "Shared". There is only one local user on that computer, called "owner" and has no password. That computer has "Simple File Sharing" option enabled. I have that one computer, let's call it LC2, that runs XP Pro - SP3. They are a combination of XP, 7, 8 and 10. I have a computer (let's call it Server, runs Windows 10 Home) which needs to access shares on various computers throughout the network. This is in a Workgroup environment, no domain at all.
